He believe by him turning his father and Edgar against each pther he will come out on top. In scene 3, King Lear daughters are plotting against him. The daughters are tired of the King's actions. Goneril wants everyone to be against the King. The daughters plan to bring the King down until they have all the power in the kingdom.
