Lost, Stranded, Injured, and sick on the PCT

On the PCT the hikers were worried, sick and afraid. There was always accidents about once a week on the PCT during the summer. Many hikers had gotten sick, injured or went missing while hiking. The most common injury were athletic injuries and it is a form of an outdoor injury. The PCTA have no tracking system for injuries and illnesses on the PCT. The Pacific Crest Trail Association known as the PCTA is not a search and rescue organization, they protect and secure the trail. A man named Chris Curtiss known as Kelso only ate a snicker bar and water while on the trail. He was vomitting for 10 hours and tore his stomach. Hikers get dehydrated and suffer from the heat and snow. I have learned that before you start hiking you should eat a good meal. I have also learned that you should always be prepared for anything you want to do and bring plenty of food and water. Always tell someone where you are going and when you will be back. The last thing I have learned was to never give up. If hikers have no signal on the PCT how do they talk on the phone with the PCTA? What is the most important equipment hikers need while hiking? Should hikers bring medicine while hiking?
